Rooted in the ancient healing principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupressure involves applying pressure to specific points along meridian energy lines. This process releases what is known in Chinese as 'Qi' or 'Chi' - the vital flow of energy through the body. A harmonious and free-flowing Qi supports the optimal functioning of internal organs and blood circulation, reducing pain and alleviating conditions. However, if your Qi becomes blocked, stagnates, or becomes deficient, it can lead to disease. Acupressure aims to unblock congested Qi, strengthen weak Qi, and pacify overactive Qi.
Benefits of Acupressure Facial Therapy:
The treatment experience is immensely relaxing, not only reducing stress but also refining the skin's appearance by smoothing lines and boosting its elasticity.
Your session will commence with a soothing shoulder massage to dispel tension and smooth out any knots. From there, we progress to the neck, gently stretching the prominent neck muscles to ease tension and relax tight jaw muscles. A gentle scalp massage follows, with pressure applied to specific acupressure points on the head, leading into a serene facial treatment. The facial begins with a cleanse, followed by the application of warm cloths to the face and neck. This helps soften the skin and the intricate underlying muscles. Using a fragrant oil, the face is gently massaged to relieve tension in these muscles, simultaneously stimulating various acupressure points. Depending on your specific needs, additional focus will be given to the most relevant acupressure points. For instance, those suffering from headaches might receive extended attention on TW23 in conjunction with GB14/GB20, depending on headache location, or BL2 for those with back pain. Subsequent techniques specifically target the Fascia and the Lymph. To finish your treatment, KD1, an acupressure point on both feet, is gently held. This point is known for its calming and grounding properties, ensuring the treatment concludes on a balanced note. Should you wish, this can seamlessly transition into a foot reflexology session, combining the strengths of both therapies for a profoundly relaxing experience.
